Every manufacturing process has a threshold beyond which standard equipment is no longer sufficient. Highly complex components, technical specifications not covered by off-the-shelf systems, or expertise that the integrator lacks in-house—these are the situations in which ECB steps in with custom testing solutions, developed since 1991 for the automotive, hydraulic, pneumatic, medical, and industrial sectors.

Specialized expertise for custom equipment

When applications exceed the capabilities of conventional system integrators, ECB designs custom hardware and software. Among its projects are:

  • Calibration and parallel testing of AdBlue urea sensors in a climate chamber
  • Testing of electro-hydraulic brake calipers, coils, ignition modules, and stators for brushless motors/pumps
  • Testing of diesel fuel sensors and heaters
  • In-circuit programming of electronic circuit boards
  • High- and ultra-high-pressure endurance testing

Multi-product test benches that can be retooled according to production needs

For production lines handling different variants of a component, rapid pallet change allows the station to be retooled while minimizing downtime. ECB multi-product workstations are used for:

  • Lighting devices, control modules, instrument panels, in-cabin displays, and ABS sensors for the automotive sector
  • EGR valves, potentiometric and electronic joysticks, wiring harnesses, pressure sensors, and DC-DC converters

Scalable automation, from single workstations to turnkey systems

The level of automation is tailored to the customer’s needs, including automated workstations, rotary tables, robotic cells, or combinations of these solutions. Depending on the application, integration may include:

  • axis controls
  • SCARA, anthropomorphic, or collaborative robots
  • machine vision systems
  • micro-dot, inkjet, or laser marking
  • laboratory instrumentation
  • screwdriving units
  • adhesive and lubricant dispensing
  • measurement sensors
  • code readers

For projects requiring comprehensive coverage, ECB provides turnkey systems. Among the applications we have implemented are:

  • die-casting inspection
  • assembly and testing of engine components
  • calibration and testing of pressure sensors and AdBlue urea sensors
  • testing of dashboard controls and vehicle lighting systems
  • overmolding and testing of multi-pin connectors

Every project continues beyond installation

The installation of the test bench marks the beginning of an ongoing partnership: ECB supports the customer throughout the entire lifecycle of the system, from the initial co-design phase through to the development of dedicated control software.

Support continues over time with certified calibration, scheduled maintenance plans, and on-site assistance available both in Italy and abroad. Services also include retrofitting of older systems, which is ideal for combating obsolescence and extending their useful life.

Furthermore, each system is designed with a modular architecture that is expandable and upgradeable to continuously adapt to evolving production needs.
