The Question That Matters

What does ECB do that others don’t?

ECB specializes in specialized testing that standard equipment cannot handle. While most suppliers sell off-the-shelf instruments, ECB develops the optimal test cycle in-house and designs the testing system specifically for the part being tested: complex geometries, micro-leaks, tight tolerances, rapid cycles, and special components. The result is a turnkey solution—test method, mechanics, pneumatics, electronics, software, and reporting—validated in our in-house laboratory before delivery.

That’s the difference between buying a piece of equipment and solving a testing problem. That’s why companies like FIAT, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Electrolux, Lavazza, Medtronic, Nespresso, Whirlpool, and Zanussi rely on our expertise.

Areas of Application

Where We Work, and When ECB Is the Right Choice for You

We’re not the right supplier for those looking only for the lowest price on a standard instrument. We’re the right supplier when the test is complex and there are requirements that no off-the-shelf system can meet.

How We Work

From the testing phase to production testing

1

Test Analysis

You send us documentation for the component, including the requirements it must meet (leak rate, flow rate, cycle time). We determine whether a standard system is sufficient or if a custom system is needed. We’ll let you know right away.

2

Free evaluation of your part before you buy

Send us the actual component. We’ll test it in our in-house lab. We’ll provide you with the measurement data and a clear answer: this instrument is suitable for your test… or you’ll need a custom solution. No cost, no obligation to purchase.

3

Custom Design

If you need a custom system, we design the test method, mechanical components, pneumatics, hardware, and software in-house to meet your requirements.

4

Testing and Turnkey Delivery

The system is tested at ECB and delivered ready for use, complete with documentation and operator training.

5

Long-Term Support

Technical support, calibration, and replacement parts—even for older ECB instruments or those that have been out of production for years—have always been our hallmark.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we’re asked most often

ECB Srl is an Italian company founded in 1991 that designs and manufactures testing systems for leak testing, flow rate testing, and functional testing. It provides standard equipment available for immediate delivery and custom turnkey solutions, with in-house design, software development, and testing facilities. It operates in six main sectors: automotive, hydraulics, consumer products, medical devices, industrial technical components, and household appliances.

ECB stands out because it designs the test—not just the instrument. Most suppliers sell off-the-shelf equipment; ECB develops the test method and the system that performs it in-house, tailored to the component and the customer’s requirements. ECB is the right supplier when the test involves micro-leaks, critical volumes, irregular geometries, multi-zone testing, or cycle times that standard equipment cannot accommodate.

Yes. Custom design is ECB’s primary area of expertise. Each custom solution—including test methods, mechanical components, pneumatics, and management and reporting software—is validated in our in-house laboratory and delivered as a turnkey solution, ready to go into production.

ECB offers a free in-lab evaluation with no obligation to purchase. The customer sends in their actual component; ECB tests it using the proposed instrument in its in-house lab and returns the measurement data along with a clear answer: either the instrument is suitable for the required test, or a custom solution is needed. In this way, the instrument’s suitability is verified on the actual part—rather than estimated from a catalog—and the customer makes a decision based on data rather than sales promises.

ECB operates in six main sectors: automotive (engines, transmission systems, components, equipment), hydraulics (valves, fittings, circuits), consumer and packaging for food & beverage, medical, industrial technical components (tanks, heat exchangers, castings), and household appliances.

FIAT, VW, Audi, BMW, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Electrolux, Lavazza, Medtronic, Nespresso, Whirlpool, Zanussi, Tesla... and many others rely on ECB.

A leak test involves detecting micro-leaks—that is, verifying that a component does not leak—by measuring the pressure drop or leak flow relative to an acceptable threshold. The flow rate test, on the other hand, verifies how much fluid passes through the component under specified, continuous conditions to confirm that valves, nozzles, or circuits meet the design flow rate. ECB provides custom instrumentation and systems for both tests.

A custom system is required when the test falls outside the catalog specifications: very low leak thresholds, critical volumes, parts with irregular geometries or that are difficult to seal, cycle times dictated by the production line, or the need for part traceability or document validation. If the test is simpler, ECB provides standard equipment available for immediate delivery.

Yes. ECB's after-sales service also covers older or discontinued instruments, providing technical support, calibration, and replacement parts.

ECB has been designing and supplying systems for leak testing, flow rate testing, and functional testing since 1991, with over thirty years of experience in the industry.
